The 2024 MTV EMAs have officially unveiled their nominees for “Best Afrobeats,” and this year’s list is brimming with some of the most exciting Afrobeats talents. The 6-person-list features returning nominees, Burna Boy, Tyla, Ayra Starr, Asake, last year’s winner Rema, and first time nominee, Tems. 

Looking back at last year’s EMA, Rema took home the award for “Best Afrobeats,” a category he shared with other African heavyweights including Burna Boy and Davido. 

Each of the artists on the “Best Afrobeats”  nominees list has left an indelible mark on the music world this year, with remarkable releases and sold-out tours. The question is, who will take home the award and cement their legacy? November 10 in Manchester holds the answer.
