Ghanaian singer Moliy has added another major milestone to the global run of “Shake It to the Max (Fly) Remix,” winning “Dancehall Song of the Year” at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards.
The award was presented on Saturday, September 19, at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, where the Caribbean Music Awards held its first ceremony in the Caribbean after previous editions took place in Brooklyn, New York.
The winning record, “Shake It to the Max (Fly) Remix,” pairs Moliy with Jamaican dancehall stars Shenseea and Skillibeng, with production from Silent Addy and Disco Neil. The collaboration has become one of the most visible Afro-Caribbean crossover records of the past two years, carrying the infectious energy of Moliy’s original into a broader dancehall audience.
Moliy’s victory is particularly significant because she becomes the first Ghanaian artist to win an award at the Caribbean Music Awards. Her win places a Ghanaian artist at the centre of a ceremony created specifically to celebrate the musical traditions and contemporary evolution of the Caribbean.

Earlier in 2026, the remix also won Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, giving the record recognition from both its Ghanaian home audience and the Caribbean music community.
Moliy’s growing place in the Afro-Caribbean conversation
The significance of the win extends beyond the award itself. “Shake It to the Max (Fly) Remix” has become a useful example of how African and Caribbean sounds can meet without either side being reduced to a supporting role.
Moliy brings the Ghanaian and Afro-fusion foundation of the record, while Shenseea and Skillibeng deepen its connection to contemporary Jamaican dancehall.
