Tiwa Savage is Opening Doors for the Next Generation of African Music Creatives
What’s better than a beautiful hitmaking icon? An icon that gives back.
On March 9, 2026, legendary Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage officially launched the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation at the Delborough Hotel in Lagos.
The event brought together an impressive mix of government officials, music industry leaders, and business figures, all gathered to celebrate the singer’s latest step toward investing in the future of African music.
Dressed in a stunning beaded ensemble, Tiwa Savage took to the stage to share the vision behind the foundation.
During her speech, she revealed that the initiative aims to invest in the future of “the sound of Nigeria” by supporting emerging creatives across the music ecosystem.
One of the biggest highlights of the evening was the announcement of the foundation’s debut project: a partnership with Berklee College of Music.
The collaboration will see the launch of an intensive music programme designed to equip African creatives with the skills, exposure, and industry knowledge needed to thrive on a global stage.
The guest list reflected the significance of the event. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was in attendance and praised Tiwa Savage as one of Nigeria’s leading talents.

A key feature of the foundation’s debut programme is its inclusivity. From singers and producers to composers and other professionals working across the music ecosystem, the initiative welcomes creatives from multiple corners of the industry.
The first programme under the foundation will train 100 music creatives and is scheduled to take place from April 23 to April 26, 2026, in Lagos State, the heart of Afrobeats and a fitting location for a project aimed at nurturing the next generation of African music talent.
With over 900 submissions already in and nine days left until the March 20 deadline, the response from African music creatives has been nothing short of impressive.
If the launch event was any indication, the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation is setting the bar high. When a global institution like Berklee College of Music collaborates with an icon like Tiwa Savage, it may just mark the beginning of a powerful new pathway for African creatives.
