Mayorkun Wants a Prenup and DNA Test Before Having Kids

Mayorkun has revealed that his girlfriend got upset after he told her he would want a prenuptial agreement and a DNA test before having children.

The Nigerian singer discussed his views on marriage, relationships and fatherhood during a podcast conversation, where he explained the conditions he would want in place before starting a family.

According to Mayorkun, he told his girlfriend that they would need a prenup if they eventually got married, as well as a DNA test when she gives birth.

“I told my girlfriend we’d have to do a prenup and DNA test when she gives me a child, just to be sure. She got upset.”

Mayorkun said he wants the DNA test to confirm the biological paternity of any child he has.

The singer also disclosed that he has considered conducting the paternity test without informing the mother.

“I’ve thought of doing the DNA test without telling her.”

Mayorkun further said he would publicly disclose the result if the test showed that the child was not biologically his.

“If it’s my child, no issues. If not, everybody will hear about it.”

His comments focused on his expectations for a future marriage and family. He did not say that he currently has a child or that he has discovered that a child he has raised is not biologically his.

Mayorkun also did not accuse his girlfriend of infidelity or give a specific reason for wanting to conduct a paternity test.

Mayorkun Links Prenup to His Plans for Marriage

The singer mentioned the DNA test alongside his plans for a prenuptial agreement, saying he wants both arrangements in place before having children.

A prenup is a legal agreement that couples enter into before marriage to establish how certain assets, finances and obligations will be handled if the marriage ends.

Mayorkun’s remarks come as conversations around paternity testing and trust in relationships continue to attract attention in Nigeria.

The singer’s comments, however, relate to his stated plans for a future marriage and children rather than an existing paternity dispute.
